GENERAL SURGERY
Surgeons specialize in the
diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of disorders. Their professional
training, after completing the necessary undergraduate course-work, is four-year
of medical school followed by a surgical residency program.
Surgeons diagnose and treat disorders of the digestive tract,
breast, head and neck, skin and the abdomen and its’ contents. General
Surgeons have a specialized training in the treatment of trauma, burns and
management of cancer patient by screening, surgery and follow-up.
Commonly performed procedures include abdominal surgery
(gallbladder removal, appendectomy and bowel surgery), breast biopsies and
breast cancer surgery, hernia repair and treatment of skin cancer.
